Mock-Up

My masterpiece. After struggling to find some sort of instructions and not finding any that worked I resolved to create my own way of doing them. They turned out perfect. (:

Flower Girl Basket

Picture
Nothing fancy and not so much DIY (other than me tying the ribbon on lol) but I love the natural look of it especially since we are getting married in a small church in the mountains. I picked the purple ribbon to match the programs and of course the bm & flower girls dress.

Program Basket

Picture
Not too much DIY. Just added a ribbon and layered cardstock. Perfect size for as many programs as we will be using and simply cute (:

Cake Charms

Picture
This is a must have for a Southern wedding and a simple, simple, simple project. All I did was buy the charms and tie ribbon onto them. The hardest part was finding the charms I wanted!

Meanings of the Charms:
Butterfly - Lasting Beauty
Heart - New Love
Motorcycle - Life of Adventure and Travel
Four Leaf Clover - Luck in Life
Ring - Next to be Married
Fleur De Lis - Wealth and Prosperity
Starfish - Wish Will Come True
Cat - Will Become a Crazy Cat Lady / Spinsterhood

Wooden Initials

Picture
I bought the curly letters from Hobby Lobby and painted them a pretty plum that coordinates with our wedding colors. Then once they had dried I hot glued a thin lavender ribbon to the backs of them so they can hang on the doors. The G will be used for the entrance to the church and the M & B will be used for our respective dressing rooms on the day of. (:

Card Box Letters

Picture
Found these on clearance and decided they were what I was looking for. Since my card box will actually be a paper mache hat box (yes I will be decorating it eventually... inspiration just hasn't smacked me in the face yet) with the lid propped up on the side, I needed letters to just stand up in front of it, which apparently they do exist but they are too gigantic for the size of the box. I painted the letters purple to go with the colors of the weeding but will be leaving the back the original color to keep it simple.

Card Box

Picture
Yay! This one was a bit of a pain. Couldn't find good instructions on how to accomplish this feat so I turned to my instincts and of course theknot forums namely the DIY board for tips and ideas. After about an hour of learning how to get along with spray adhesive and playing with a craft knife I finally had a card box! Now for the reception we will be draping a piece of fabric inside just so we don't leave it bare but even with out it I think we have a winner! (:

Also you can find my DIY instructions on my How To page. Since I couldn't find anything helpful I thought I'd give other brides a little something to go by.

DIY Gems

Bridesmaid's Pearl Necklaces

Picture
Thanks to fellow knottie Punk_Ness for posting this link... http://www.feathersnpearls.com/2009/01/diy-pearl-necklaces.html
...for the diy instructions. Saw a few different posts with instructions but these to me were the best looking diy's.
I think they turned out beautiful & I even made one for myself (:

Bridesmaid's Pearl Bracelets

Picture
Finally done! I wanted the girls to have a matching bracelet but have fought with what type of clasp I wanted to use. At first I tried making a closure similar to the necklaces but the ribbon just wasn't cutting it for me and then I ran across these cute heart-shaped toggle clasps at Michael's. I also made the Matron of Honor's bracelet to stand out a bit more with crystal spacers (:

Flower Girl Pearl Necklace

Picture
I wanted my flower girl to have a mini version of the bm's necklaces. So I instead of the 8mm pearls I did 6mm and used a thinner ribbon.

Mother's Necklace

Picture
These are the necklaces that I made as gifts to the mothers. The pearls are a mauve color and the pendant is a Swarovski pendant I ordered from Artbeads.com.

Bridal Haute Bracelet

Picture
I saw several pictures of the on theknot as girls made their own and knew I wanted something like it. I was almost to the point that I was going to break down and buy one but I found the Swarovski centerpiece with the purple gems and thought I'd just go ahead and give it a go. To my delight this was the result. And I loovveee it!

Fascinators

Bridal Fascinator

Picture
I have discovered I am the type of bride that wants all the attention on me on my wedding day. At first I figured I wouldn't care so much (I am typically more tom-boyish. Think Jedi's, Sith Lords, superheros, comics, and World of Warcraft. Ok now thats me) but then the more I got into it all, I became a princess.... so then came the want for a fascinator for when the veil came off. Then after that came the lunch break trip to my local Hobby Lobby. Then came the mountain of feathers. Almost burning my apt down with a hot glue gun. And thennnn this....

As my mother in law mentioned... this is also going to look fabulous with my second line umbrella. (:

Bridesmaids Hair Flowers

Picture
I wanted to give the girls a little something to match their dresses but also match my fascinator. So I went to Hobby Lobby, DB color swatch in hand and headed to the same aisle I found my flowers on. Low and behold, they had an EXACT match to their dress color! And so came the bridesmaid hair flowers!

Sand Ceremony

Picture
I found these cylinders for 50% off at my local Hobby Lobby. They are perfect size for out sand ceremony. This was definitely one the easier DIYs ;) All I did was add a belly band with our monogram!

Picture
Picture
I went ahead and also picked up the sand. The red will be for Matthew. The purple for me. And the white represents Christ which will be the foundation on which our marriage is built.

Bridesmaid's Day-Of Totes

Picture
After doing the iron on panties and seeing how easy making my own iron-on's was, I thought I'd use them to personalize the day of tote bags. I hand-sewed the ribbon on the top to add a little flare.
Picture

Church Wreaths

Picture
Picture
I made 3 of these wreaths for the church decorations. One will be on the front door with our G initial as pictured to the left. I am thrilled with the way these turned out! They fit perfectly in with the look we are trying to achieve for the setting we will be in (:

Instructions can be found in DIY - How To

Toasting Flutes

Picture
I knew since someone made these for my senior prom that I'd love to personalize my toasting flutes. I made one for each of the parents, my Nana & Pappy, and of course Matt & I. All it took was a couple of paint pens and tracing off of a print out of what I wanted in the font I wanted. They aren't perfect but they still look great! And I did them with lots of love... and a few curse words. lol. All in all I am happy and I am sure my family will be too.

Tossing Bouquet

Picture
Picture
This of course is not an exact match to the bouquet I will actually be carrying but it is close enough. It was hard to find nicer looking lavender silk roses so I said what the heck and just left them out. I figured since I will just be tossing this I'd keep it simple.
